Discarded watermelons:(

Can you believe grandpa's watermelons that didn't make it? He piled them up here in his garden so they can rot. I think he'll have a great patch next year!!! A LOT of these are volunteers that came up and were as sweet as candy. They are called "Black Diamond." We kept trying them this fall but they just ran out of hot weather:(

What a shame, what happens if they run out of hot weather? By the way, I didn't realize how much I like seeing pictures of you, Mom, on the blogs once in a while until I was happy to see your shadow in this picture :0)
Aw man, that watermelon patch was awesome! That's too bad.
When the hot weather stopsthey don't ripen.
But we still had a lot of very ripe and very sweet watermelons on our tables. Yesterday 10/22 we had our first killing frost at 25 degrees.
Also had a trailer load of manure hauled in - now I have to scatter it and till it under.
Wow, that is incredible. I have trying to grow watermelon for years with no luck. Whis we could have tasted some of those!!
hummmmm, watermelon sounds really good.
Grandpa, you're amazing...91 years old and tilling the garden!
Interesting how Tiff has taken a sudden acute interest in food...
Ya, last night i couldn't go to sleep because i was craving a cob salad, with avacado, tomatoes, olives, fatty dressing, blue cheese. I seriously wanted it so bad. Mark thought that was the weirdest thing ever
What's a cob salad? Tiff do you feel very sick?
Mmmmm I definatly did not eat enough watermelon this summer!
