CORN, CORN, CORN

LAST NIGHT BEFORE IT GOT DARK WE PICKED OVER 200 EARS OF CORN THAT FINALLY GOT RIPE DUE TO A WEEK OF NICE WARM TEMPERATURES. WE SOLD THEM ALL THIS MORNING IN THE FIRST HOUR OF FARMERS MARKET. IT WAS A GOOD DAY, ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE COME UP WITH SOME CRAZY REGULATIONS! WALLY HAD GOT SOME ONE DOLLAR PIECES OF BANAN SQUASH BECAUSE THEYA RE SO HUGE AND WE BAGGED THEM. NOW THEY SAY WE HAVE TO CUT THEM THERE WITH A WASHING STATION, BUCKET OF BLEACH WATER, KNIFE WASHING WATER, ETC ETC! I TOLD HER OUR KITCHEN IS CLEANER THAN THE BACK OF OUR TRUCK!!!

Boy, wish I was there to buy some of that corn. Your fresh corn is the best. So how long does your farmers market run?

It's supposed to go until the end of Oct but I don't know if we'll go anymore. I'm going to Health Department tomorrow and talk to them.

Whoa! That's huge. You're really put a lot of effort and energy into your crop this year and it looks like it's paying off. Corn crop in Vermont wasn't that great this year because we've had A LOT of rain, especially this spring when sunshine was crucial.

I wish there was some way we could weigh one of our babna squashes. After we pick it, we will try to weigh it. It is so big. we are very thankful that our soil is good. It's not us, it's the soil.
